Giving you a insight how atelier work can look like. Visualising the creative process of the VASR design office & atelier.
Mall Of Scandinavia - The Designer Gallery.
Contracted as external Chief Editor (Creative Director) via company Lee Cotter Creative.
My role is to create bi-annual collections/themes that are applied to ensure that the areas are constantly evolving and always offering the customer a new experience.
I created a graphic carpet design based on old school yard string tricks. A play with strings with your fingers creating intricate patterns. I have enlarged the image x 1000 and placed it upon the 2500sqm area.
By using red and tones of grey the area and room creates a chambré separee feel and clearly differentiates from the rest of the mall.
The red metal arches are created together with architect Jani Christoffersen from GUISE Architects. The idea is built upon a table that echoes and creates a flowing arch through the open void of the designer gallery. Metal constructions that reminded us of the slinky toy - therefor the arches were named "the slinky table arches".
The structures are created as artful shapes that will catch the eye and guide the customer through the cross mall experience.
The tasks consists partly of straight design management for graphics, interior design and communication. And partly by creating a theme-base for the company to build it´s content upon.
A clear theme/story that should be told. I also guide the company to connections with tenants for creative pop-ups, suggestions of new interesting partnerships and collaborations within fashion, art and lifestyle. All created with sales, footfall and publicity in mind.

V AVE SHOE REPAIR flagship store.
The store was located on Mäster Samuelsgatan in central Stockholm, the third store built for the VASR brand. Inspired by visible skyscraper constructions, we created a thin steel frame that acted as base.
The winding stare cases where an interpretation from plissé materials and creations used in the VASR atelier garments. The folds where used as table tops and display tables.

The 90 day store experiment.
A retail project for V AVE SHOE REPAIR. The first ever retail space for the brand where we created a temporary store in Sturegallerian in the heart of central Stockholm.
The store was built by constructing spaces through geometrical shapes. The shapes where made from woven tapes (normally used as safety belts). The store was opened for 90 days with a count down every day.

V AVE SHOE REPAIR - Stockholm Sofo store
The first ever store for the VASR brand. This location was initially the brands company HQ and design office. There where initially no intention of making a store of the space. But as the area of Sofo became increasingly popular for fashion, food and nightlife, customers constantly knocked on the front door wanting to see the process and designs, making it virtually impossible to design collections. The space was reshaped to a experimental store and with years became a well known classic.
